Moody Month branding and app design
Moody Month aim to become the world leader in women’s health through human technology and solutions built for and by women – to improve the economic and social empowerment of women globally.
90% of women have experienced PMS symptoms, 100% of women have hormones and fluctuating moods relating to their monthly cycle and yet no technology existed to allow women to track, manage and plan for their monthly mood and hormone cycles. Moody was always about creating a lifestyle, not just a tool.
We worked collaboratively with Moody for 9 months to build their visual brand, IOS app and social media presence.

Brand
The brand design focuses around a cyclical logo that symbolises a women’s hormonal cycle. The Moody brand is built on four central colours that align with the four phases of an average menstrual cycle; bleed, rise, shift and reflect. The colours serve a functional purpose of communicating a change in phase whilst also symbolising the emotions and feelings of each hormonal phase.
We used bold typography, colour blocking, striking and diverse photography to reflect women who are strong, empowered yet still feminine.
App
The app aims to help women to better understand themselves, empowering them to maximise their month by tracking their moods, cycles and hormones. We led on research and UX work to inform the app, as well as on the UI including a calendar, monthly reporting and a daily feed of informational tips on environmental factors like the weather and the moon.
Impact
We worked collaboratively with the Moody Month team from alpha stage to full release in the UK and US. Moody Month has been downloaded over 100,000 times, featured as App of the Day twice in the App Store, launched in America and had thousands of positive reviews about how life-changing this app has been in helping women understand their bodies better.
